Love Story

A pair of love birds adorning “Chin & Crystal” monogram names, with one of the carrying a key that released a bird from the bird cage. Both birds join together in freedom and happily together! :)

A simple Love Story for this fairytale collection.

A Rosy Affair

The colour theme that seems very popular among wedding couples nowadays is “red and black” colour combination. Red is the colour for any happiness event and more so in weddings, especially with Chinese culture! This colour also pleased our older generation family members, most importantly our parents! So red all the way ……!!!!!!

A Rosy Affair is a transformation from Scarlet Rose collection into a more drama and bold approach when the rose is printed in BLACK on Red card. Inside invitation is printed as an insert in silver shimmer paper.

A simple monogram is design for the couple Chin and Crystal, with the emphasis on character “C” to combine both their names together!

Just to add some sparkle for Crystal’s name, the centre of the rose bud is adorned with a Swarovski crystal!

Scarlet Rose

Scarlet Rose design was revamped from the initial ideas proposed for Jiawei and Chu Yen’s wedding. However Chu Yen prefer motifs rather than roses, and this design was left aside.

I personally love the rose in red and a sparkling Swarovski crystal buckle always adds an extra classiness into any cards! The hems in dark maroon by the side of the ribbon are just so beautiful! I found this ribbon from a craft store that sells very unique ribbons, and it is pretty costly too! Of course, we can always replace other similar materials or quality to fit our wallet ;) Who says we can’t have both worlds?!

Red Red Roses ‘Ang Pow’ Box

Guests attending a Chinese wedding will usually give out ‘ang pow’ also known as red packets containing monetary gifts as blessing and well wishes to the newly wed couple.

Made Viv Love created a special ‘ang pow’ box for Jiawei & Chu Yen’s wedding by using elements from their ballroom and theme colours; red and black. Red roses will be use for their ballroom deco and also the tables centre piece.

This is how their wedding reception ballroom looks like:

clip_image002

To design a thematic ‘ang pow’ box to match their ballroom deco and reception table; I’ve sourced some beautiful full bloom red roses during on my recent trip to Bangkok. They have the best selection of artificial flowers and I found these roses matches with the picture above so perfectly! :)

I’ve also added a light touch of black lace around the lid of the box giving it a much more elegant glamour. The box is wrapped with quilted light shimmer gold paper. Top of the lid also has a wide opening for the red packets to be drop in.

Isn’t it a lovely piece when this Red Red Roses ‘Ang Pow’ Box will be place at the reception table for their guests to insert their red packets! :)

The measurement of this box size is 8’ (height) x 10’ (width) x 8 1/2’ (depth). The design and creation of this ‘ang pow’ box are uniquely one piece only and no replica or same design can be reproduce due to items are handmade.

Beautiful Songs by Jon Schmidt

When it comes to choices of songs for wedding, there is always an old time favourite which is “Canon In D” by Pachelbel.

Jon did a marvellous songs combination for Pachelbel meets U2. If you have not heard of it, check this video below …

And then we have some really beautiful love songs from time to time that we have grown up listening, boy bands that sang romantic ballads … songs that reminds us of our first puppy love, songs that we wished a guy will play for us with his guitar … and we dream for that perfect song that someday when we walk down the aisle, that ‘one song’ will be played.

Another song that I’ve came across was compiled by Jon Schmidt - Love Story Meets Viva la Vida. Yes! It is a mix of both songs by Taylor Swift and Cold Play. And it turns out beautifully!! Jon is really talented and I would like to share his beautiful masterpiece here with you.

Perhaps asking your live band to play this song for your grand entrance march in and choreograph a dance with your bridal party?!! Just some random thoughts! ;)

ROM Invitation Cards

A simple invitation card design for a Jo and Nigel’s small ROM ceremony at their residence @ Marina Sail, Singapore . Their theme for this event is lilac / lavender. Something softer and more romantic for an intimate event with their close family and friends especially who can’t make it to their wedding in Sabah.

Here is what I’ve design for them :)

Wedding Invitation Verses

Came across some wedding invitation verses from some website, I thought it will be interesting to share some of my favourites here :)

He is soft-spoken and I am a chatterbox

He loves a love story, and I like to laugh

He whispered, "Will you marry me?"

and I shouted  "Yes!"

He didn't put a diamond

in my champagne glass

or get down on one knee,

but his gentle proposal

brought tears to my eyes,

and my acceptance brought tears to his...

Signed, Sealed & Delivered

It was such great pleasure when I delivered Josephine & Nigel’s handmade stationery last week. I was very happy to see Jo’s excited and satisfaction expression (brimming with proud) when I unwrapped her wedding stationery sets to show her the invitation cards, program covers, table names with frames, Thank You flags, seating maps of Narnia & LOTR, and buffet quote.

They are such a lovely couple, and I can see that Nigel leave every decision in his princess hands so that she gets her dream wedding. Such a sweet guy, even if he is a man of few words you’ll know that he is willing to give and do anything to make his bride happy  :)

I’m very happy to work with Jo, such a fun loving girl and most of all … I found my very own species – The Bridezilla. A new friendship was born, it is more than just work but the the passion and love in weddings.

Here is Josephine and Nigel wedding stationery sets for your eye candy! You may view her comments here.

A New Look For The Festive Cheer!

If you look around the streets on Orchard all the way to the Marina Square, you’ll see all shopping centres and hotels are all deck up with beautiful lights, huge ornaments, gigantic Christmas trees and all things that glitter!

I guess this year’s theme is going to be a “Glittering Christmas” with all that sparkles … extra bling bling!! :) I personally prefer this year’s deco more than last year. If you still remember, last year Christmas theme was “Sweet Christmas” … too much cutesy stuff like candy and little dolls are not my favourite image of Christmas.

I must say Singapore is well ahead in Christmas deco. I just came back from Bangkok. They were just putting up the six storey high Christmas tree without much deco with fairy lights and some huge musical notes and of course Santa and his gang in Siam Square! It will take at least a few more days to see the fully decorated square.

As the Christmas and New Year is approaching, I took this opportunity to give this blog a new celebrative look in conjunction with this festive season! :) I hope you like it!

Peacock Love

The Peacock can represent spring, birth, new growth, longevity, and love. It is a good omen, signalling prestige, success and contentment in relationships and careers. Alternatively, The Peacock's habit of strutting and displaying the beauty of it's feathers, is also a symbol of worldly pride and vanity.

The Peacock is a symbol of beauty, prosperity, royalty, love, compassion, the soul, and peace.

Check out this newly inspired creation using designer watercolour style peacock paper collection with lace paper trimmings.

Silence On The Blog

Time flies when you travel! I’ve been very fortunate to travel to a few countries like Australia, New Zealand and Japan for inspirations, ideas and also chilling out in the islands of French Polynesia with my hubby for the past few months.

We revisited our honeymoon destination for my birthday :) It is such a beautiful place, and did I mention it is the most romantic place to be! You may watch millions of stars at night, gazing the Milky Way with your naked eyes, chilling sea breeze, warm sun and beautiful scenery; all in a secluded island away from the buzzing city life.

I would highly recommend beach bum couples to go to French Polynesia for their honeymoon. Choose any of these islands – Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea for an experience you’ll never forget!

Been away without much internet connection and great holiday indulgence which explain the silence on this blog… And I guess it is time to update my visitors and friends with more new creations! I’m very excited to share with you some of my recent work I did for Josephine’s wedding and new designs that will be posted soon!
